Safety in the aerospace and industrial sectors have never been more important, and our team at AvGo Solutions is dedicated to providing both products and insight that help our customers in both industries reduce costs and protect employees by making workplaces as safe and effective as possible! AvGo Solutions is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business with vast experience in both aerospace and industrial sectors. We know how important safety is and how accidents or injuries on an airport ramp or on a factory floor can severely impact business operations. We intend to explore the risks associated with the aerospace and industrial sectors and also the best ways to reduce those risks. We are glad you stopped by to visit, so let's get started!

Aerospace Safety Risks
If you've ever had a layover at an airport, you've probably watched the flight line personnel moving baggage to and from aircraft or directing aircraft in and out of the terminal gates. Any activity where aircraft and workers are moving around together is inherently dangerous, and all precautions must be taken to avoid injuries to these workers or damage to equipment/aircraft. You will often see ramp personnel wearing reflective "Hi-Viz" vests or clothing that allows aircraft controllers and pilots to see these personnel more easily when scanning the taxiway and other ramp areas. These vests, as well as illuminated wands for marshaling aircraft help to keep these workers safe by clearly identifying their position in space relative to aircraft or other equipment. This seems like common sense, but accidents involving personnel and aircraft still occur on a regular basis, so both aircraft operators and maintainers must constantly be alert and aware that ramp personnel are always at some level of risk when in proximity to active aircraft operations.

Industrial Safety Risks
Workers in a factory setting are often surrounded by machinery and equipment that is constantly moving, and similarly to aerospace operations, these personnel are at risk of injury simply due to not being seen by equipment operators in close proximity. Hi-Viz clothing is just as important in mitigating the risk of injuries in these industrial settings as it is on an aircraft ramp, and companies should always ensure that workers are adequately equipped with reflective, high-visibility clothing that reduces the risk of injury. This is simple way to avoid an injuries that might have been caused due to simply not being seen. We will discuss in greater detail the additional and unique risks of injury for industrial workers and how to mitigate those risk in later blog posts.
